The Hutchinson Soda Water bottle, called "hutch" for short, was in use around 1880-1910.
The bottles have the unique shape shown in the photo on the right.
This style supported use of the patented Hutchinson spring-loaded internal stopper.
The remains of these stoppers are often found in the bottles.
Many collectors will try to find all hutch bottles in their state, while others collect
pictorial and colored hutch bottles.
Here's the wooden injector used to insert the wire closure into a hutch bottle. Was made of rock hard maple wood. Also see the accompanying advertising sheet.
