R.L. HIGGINS / VIRGINIA CITY
Golden amber 6 1/2" master ink with tons of whittle. The Higgins inks are believed to be the only known embossed Western ink. Made in San Francisco during the 1870s. R.L. Higgins began with a stationary store selling educational materials. Originally located at 35 South C Street, Higgins introduced Virginia City to previously unattainable merchandise. The business lasted through 1883, moving its location once. These extremely rare bottles also come in aqua and a small sized inkwell with the some embossing pattern.
