   Aqua tinted glass, height 4", BIM with single collar lip and some whittle to neck, has full label which is 99% intact and easily readable which gives directions for usage, smooth base, rectangular shaped, item #M152.

6. Boschee's German Syrup label
   Aqua tinted glass, height 4", BIM with single collar top, only embossing is "L.M. GREEN" on one side and "WOODBURY N.J." on the other side. Front label is 95% intact and partly reads "Dr. A. Boschee's German Syrup of Tar, Wild Cherry, etc.". Bottle is mint with content residue on the inside. Label is deteriated somewhat but still readable, item #M121, SOLD.

7. DR. BROWN'S MAGIC LINIMENT labels+contents Front
   Clear glass, height 5", BIM with single collar lip and smooth base with hinge mold mark, still has about 80% original contents and seal over top cork is fully intact, label only with no embossing, item #M242, glass and front/back labels are in mint condition, SOLD.

       Amber glass, height 9 1/8", BIM with double collar lip and smooth base, rectangular shaped medicine with "CAS-CAR-RIA" embossed in vertically in large letters on front panel, label on back panel (see PIC), glass is perfect except for 1/4" chip on one corner of the base, paper label is stained with age but fully intact and easily readable, manufactured by Manhattan Therapeutic Co. for constipation, item #M159.

13. CENTAUR LINIMENT label+contents
    Clear glass, height 3 1/2", BIM with single collar lip and smooth base, cylinder shape, embossing on shoulder, has full label that shows picture of centaur with bottle, label describes this as a trial bottle that is for "rheumatism, neuralgia, sprains, burns, ... caked breast, ... lockjaw, ...". Produced by Chas. H. Fletcher of New York. Directions on label in 4 different languages, circa 1891 as listed on label, sealed with original contents, item #M237, glass is in mint condition, SOLD.

    Light amber glass, BIM with single collar lip, height 4 1/2", square shaped with smooth base embossed "W.T. CO. / R / U.S.A.", near mint condition (really sparkles) with nice crisp embossing, rare to find a remedy for the feet (great gift for a podiatrist), item# M96, SOLD.

    Aqua tinted glass, height 6", BIM with collar top and smooth base, has original front and back labels, front label 90%, back label 80%, glass is perfect, item #M120, SOLD.

18. DILLS BALM OF LIFE label+box
    Clear glass, height 5 3/4", BIM with flanged collar lip and smooth base, embossed as listed above on back, also has 97% of original front label that lists the ingredients as "CONTAINS 70% ALCOHOL, 1 1/3 GRS. OF OPIUM PER FL. OZ.", also lists the many things it's used for which partly include "Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Sprains, Swelling, ...", labels are stained from age but easily readable, label has a few spots missing as shown in photo but all text readable, box is missing top portion and is very faded and barely readable, glass is mint except for some original content residue on inside, item #M245, Sold at eBay.

19. FENTON'S / MARINE DRUGSTORE / CLEVELAND. O. / U.S.A. label
    Green tinted glass, height 8 3/4", BIM with unusual mushroom-style lip, smooth base, 95% of original label for "FENTON'S SARSAPARILLA or Matchless Liver and Blood Syrup", label is easily readable, glass is mint and nicely whittled, still wax sealed with original cork and has small amount of original contents, item #M270, SOLD.

    Clear glass, height 3 1/2", BIM with single collar lip and smooth base, first part of label reads "FREE SAMPLE / Dr Hartshorn's / No 18 / LINIMENT" and two main ingredients are chloroform and alcohol (53%), bottle is mint and has content residue and original cork stopper, box is in great shape except top torn off (still have pieces) and some paper loss on back (see photo), item #M218, SOLD.

    Light see-thru amber glass, height 9 5/8", BIM with smooth base, semi-cabin shape that also "HOP TONIC" embossed on each of the four shoulder panels, professionally cleaned to very good condition but still has rake mark across back of lip and two bruises, very scarce cabin-shaped medicine that is normally found in dark amber. 33. Horton & Converse / Pharmacists green
    Medium green glass, height 3 3/4", base embossed "C.L. c Co. / c". Excellent condition with no chips/cracks but does have light interior and exterior staining. Item #M265. Sold on eBay.
    In the 1999 edition of Ed Miller�s "California (Embossed) Drug Store / Pharmacy Bottles" he rates this bottle as rare with less than 10 bottles known.

34. DR JONES / {beaver} / LINIMENT / 4 OZ label/box/contents Front Back
    Aqua glass, height 6 3/4", BIM with single collar lip and very whittled neck (great crudity), rectangular shape with smooth base, label covers front and sides and is 100% intact and in excellent shape, there is writing on the label where the merchant wrote "60" over the original price of 55 cents, glass is mint with one open bubble, back side has embossed picture of beaver but the embossing on the picture is a weak, original contents with plastic seal added over top to prevent any evaporation (buyer can remove this if desired), also has original box which is excellent except for loss of top portion where top was removed, label lists the many things product is used for: rheumatism, neuralgia, headache, backache, toothaches, bruises, sprains, lameness, bunions, chilblains, colic, and all bodily pains". Side of label says "used on man and beast". Item #M219, SOLD.

35. KA:TON:KA / THE GREAT INDIAN REMEDY label
    Aqua green tinted glass, height 8 7/8", BIM with sloping collar lip, smooth base, has 90% of original label that has some damage/stain but is mostly readable, part of label reads "A Cure for all blood diseases, stomach, and liver difficulties such as Dyspepsa, Biliousness, ...". Label also states "Manufactured for Oregon Indian Medcine Co. / Corry, PA". glass is a bit dirty but in near mint condition (can be hand cleaned, but have to be careful of the label), one of the scarcer Indian medicines and first example I've seen with label, item #M205, SOLD.

    Box with tin of pills. Also has original advertising wrapper. Pills have not been opened. Circa 1900-1905 (before Pure Food & Drug Act). Everything in perfect condition except for some stain and a rough spot on one panel of the box. A rare and very tough to find Jayne's item. SOLD.

    Aqua glass, BIMAL, height 4.5", small chip in lip, very crooked neck. My son loves these grossly deformed bottles.

       Clear glass, height 4 1/2", ABM with single collar lip, bottle has about 1/2" of original contents and full labels and original wrapper, only embossing is "POND'S EXTRACT". This is the 3oz 25 cent size bottle. Bottle is in mint condition. Item #M124. Keeper.

    2. POND'S EXTRACT CATARRH REMEDY cobalt
       Cobalt blue glass, BIM with single collar lip, height 5 1/2", remains of cap (possibly lead) attatched around lip on one side. near mint condition, item #M174, Keeper.

62. RUMFORD CHEMICAL WORKS

    Bottles comes in emerald green, teal (most common), and cobalt blue (rarest) colors. Most common size if 5 1/2, but also comes in larger (though rarer) 7 1/2" size.
    Info provided by Greg Price from "19th Century Medicine in Glass": The Rumford Chemical Works was started in 1857 by Benjamin Count Rumford at Harvard University. Original label on these bottles said "For Dysepsia, mental and physical exhaustion, diminshed vitality, urinary difficulties, etc.

    Green tinted glass, height 6", BIM with single collar lip and neck ring, smooth base with hinge mold mark, embossed on side panels and has 100% of original front label and 97% of the back label, ingredients not listed but later version of this bottle (see next bottle listed below) had opium in it, glass would be mint except for hard-to-see shallow base chip, item #M249, SOLD.

77. TWITCHELL CHAMPLING & Co / NEURALGIC ANODYNE labels
    Aqua tinted glass, height 6", BIM with single collar lip and smooth base, embossed on side panels and has 95% of original front and back labels, ingredients were "75% alcohol, 8/10 grain opium in each ounce", advertised as a "valuable remedy for neuralgia, headache, rheumatism, colds, sore throat, colic, cramps, dysentery, diarrhoea, sea sickness, bruises, sprains, cuts, chilblains." Company based in Porland, Maine. Back label has dosage directions in English and French. Glass is mint, labels are 95% complete and fully readable. Item #M189, SOLD.

78. VOLINA CORDIAL / VOLINA DRUG & CHEMICAL CO. / BALTIMORE, Md. U.S.A. Front w/ Label Back
    Honey amber glass, height 10 1/2", BIM with smooth base, cylinder shaped, has 97% label which reads "Delicious Nutritious, Volina Cordial, It Cure Completely Dyspepsia, Indigestion, Weakness, ...", sparkling mint condition with just a spot of in-manufacturing roughness on the neck, rare bottle that is not listed in the Baltimore Club Bottle Book, item #M226, Keeper.

    ABM, brown glass (lots of bubbles), height 5", cork top, item# M69. Dug this one myself as a kid. Fair market value is maybe $1, but sentimental value is much more.

80. Mrs WINSLOW'S SOOTHING SYRUP

    See Nov 1996 article in Bottles & Extras magazine on "The Baby Killers". This bottle is a prime example of a class of medicines that were found to cause numerous deaths among infants of their day. The active ingredients in this bottle were morphine and alcohol. The "Soothing Syrup" was administered to infants who sufferred from teething pain. It was a big seller because it was effective at calming the infant, usually by putting them to sleep. The medicine continued to be used until outlawed by the drug laws in 1906.
    1. Currently SOLD OUT of the smooth based WINSLOW bottles.

    Medium emerald green glass (nice color), height 9 1/2", BIM with gloppy applied lip, probably smooth based but hard to tell if it was iron pontilled since it has been professionally cleaned, squared shaped, grades near mint condition, item #M222, For Auction now at eBay.
