   Aqua tinted glass, height 3 3/4", BIM with flared lip and open pontil base, rectangular shaped medicine, similar to #144 in Greer catalog but this example is shorter, near mint conditions with some light spots of stain but no damage, item #M203, SOLD.

     Aqua tinted glass, BIM with double collar rolled lip, height 7", large open pontil base, near mint condition - sparkling clean with just some base chips that resulted from breaking off pontil rod, hard to capture in photo how beautiful this crude bottle is, item# M80, Keeper.

3. DR. BORDEAU'S CELEBRATED COUGH DROPS! Front Base
   Aqua tinted glass, height 5", BIM with thin flared lip and open pontil base, 12 panels around, label only (no embossing), label fully encircles the bottle and is 90% complete and faded but readable, produced by "Buck & Newland, Proprietors, Corner Church and Main Streets, Brasher Falls, N.Y." glass is mint and the bottle still has it's original cork but contents are gone, amazing to be in such pristine condition with label intact, circa 1850s, item #M252, SOLD.

4. BRANT'S INDIAN / PULMONARY BALSAM / M.T. WALLACE / PROPRIETOR Front Pontil Base
   Aqua tinted glass, height 7", BIM with sloping collar mouth, tubular open pontil base, 8-sided, has non-radiating potstone in neck below lip that really adds to the crudity, perfect except for small base bruise, sparkling clean - no stain, item #M154, SOLD.

5. CARTERS SPANISH MIXTURE Front Base Sun Backlit
   Deep olive green glass, height 8 3/8", BIM with crude sloping collar lip, cylinder shape with iron pontil base that still has residue intact, nice whittle to neck, lightly cleaned to near mint condition, no chips/cracks/bruises or any other damage but does retain two faint water lines, a rare and popular medicine that was made in Richmond, VA., circa 1850s, TRADED.

   Aqua tinted glass, height 5", BIM with thin flared lip and open pontil base, square body, label only (no embossing), label covers one panel and is 99% complete, glass is mint except for some internal content stain that should wash out, circa 1850s, item #M253, SOLD.

   Clear glass, height 4", BIM with rolled lip and open pontil base, square shaped medicine, glass is suprisingly light (typical of older blown bottles), excellent condition with some overall stain but no chips/cracks, same as lot 838 in Greer's catalog which lists it as American (would have guessed it to be English) circa 1850 and very scarce, item #M186, SOLD.

   Aqua tinted glass, height 4", BIM with thin flared lip and open pontil base, cylinder body, label only (no embossing), label covers half the body and is 95% complete, glass is mint except for 1/8" chip in the flared lip, circa 1850s, item #M254, For Sale $55.

    Cobalt blue glass (great color for a pontilled medicine), height 7 1/8", BIM with nice open pontil base, still has piece of original cork that appears in base picture, 8 panels, near mint condition, item #M269, SOLD.

    Teal green tinted glass (these usually come in a pale aqua), BIM with rolled lip, height 3 7/8", circular shaped base with open pontil mark, used to expel worms (vermifuge) from people, circa 1850s, item# M117, excellent condition with no damage. SOLD.

25. Mrs WINSLOW'S SOOTHING SYRUP

    See Nov 1996 article in Bottles & Extras magazine on "The Baby Killers". This bottle is a prime example of a class of medicines that were found to cause numerous deaths among infants of their day. The active ingredients in this bottle were morphine and alcohol. The "Soothing Syrup" was administered to infants who sufferred from teething pain. It was a big seller because it was effective at calming the infant, usually by putting them to sleep. The medicine continued to be used until outlawed by the drug laws in 1906.
